Goofy Doom Sound Replacements
Brought to you by
The Skywalkyr
Thanks to: Gaea
---------------------------------
Introduction
Greetings! If you took the time to download this 1.7 Meg file, you
must be as big a Doom freak as I. With the anticipation of the modem
patch nearly killing us all, here is something to relieve the stress.
Goofy Doom uses Bill Neisius' Doom sound utility to replace the current
sounds with a batch of side splitting custom and collected sounds that
will hopefully entertain you as much as they do me. If you have any
comments/questions, please e-mail one of the addresses at the bottom of
this file.
Usage
DMGOOFY path_to_archive
path_to_archive is the location of the files that accompanied this readme.
The DMGOOFY program must be run from within the Doom directory where
the sounds are to be installed, and the Doom sound utility DMAUD.EXE must
be in this directory as well.
Notes
THE EFFECTS OF THIS PROGRAM ARE IRREVERSABLE!! You will either have
to make a backup of the DOOM.WAD/DOOM1.WAD file and copy them back later,
or reinstall from the original disks if you want to hear the original
sounds. This program doesn't make any provisions for backing up files,
since the registered version requires 10 megabytes of space.
REGISTER DOOM! Those creative people at id need to eat in order to think
clearly enough to write other, awesome games such as Doom. Show them how
much you really like Doom by registering it. Besides, Episodes two and
three make Episode one look like a day at Disneyland!
